About Micro Travail

Built to make performance data easier to trust

Micro Travail started with a simple observation: most decision-support tools ask for trust before they've earned it. We set out to build something that shows its work first.

Our Story

Why we exist

Micro Travail was created around a straightforward idea: people evaluating options deserve to see the underlying data, not just a conclusion. Too many tools present a score or a recommendation without showing how it was reached.

So we structured our approach differently. Every log, every comparison, and every metric we surface is meant to be checked, not just accepted. That principle has shaped every decision since — from how we organize information to how we describe what our tools can and cannot do.

Our Mission

Give people the context to decide for themselves

We don't try to make decisions for the people who use Micro Travail. Our job is to organize and present information clearly enough that a reasonable person can draw their own conclusions.

1

Show the source

Wherever possible, we link claims back to the underlying data rather than asking users to take a summary at face value.

2

Explain the method

We try to describe how a figure or comparison was arrived at, not just present the end result.

3

Stay in our lane

We provide data-driven decision support — not personalized financial advice — and we're clear about that distinction throughout.

Our Values

What we hold ourselves to

These aren't polished slogans — they're the standards we try to apply when we're deciding what to build, publish, or change.

  • ✓ Clarity over polish. A plainly worded explanation beats a slick but vague one.
  • ✓ Verifiability matters. If something can't reasonably be checked, we say so instead of overstating it.
  • ✓ Restraint in claims. We describe what our tools do without exaggerating outcomes.
  • ✓ Ongoing scrutiny. We treat our own methods as things to keep questioning, not settled facts.
Our Team

People behind Micro Travail

Micro Travail is run by a small team focused on data structuring, product design, and clear communication. We keep the group intentionally lean so that decisions about how information is presented stay consistent and accountable.

A note on how we work

We review our processes and published information on an ongoing basis. If you notice something that seems unclear or out of date, we'd rather hear about it than have it sit unnoticed.
